Start without qualifications, earn more with them
No formal qualifications are required to become a worker with Mycare, making it simple to start. However, having relevant certifications, such as the New Zealand Certificate in Health and Wellbeing, can help you earn higher rates and attract more clients.
Care workers can enhance their skills and opportunities by pursuing qualifications like the New Zealand Certificate in Health and Wellbeing (Level 2) for foundational knowledge or advanced options such as Levels 3 and 4 for specialised care and leadership. Additional training in dementia or Alzheimer’s care can further expand expertise and open doors to higher-earning opportunities.
A valid, full driver’s licence isn’t essential, but you could earn higher rates if you can help with clients who may need transportation assistance as it ensures trust, safety and flexibility.
Background Checks
When you apply to become a Mycare carer, we carry out a Police Check and Immigration/Visa check to ensure you are entitled to work in New Zealand. It gives clients peace of mind knowing all carers have been checked and validated.
